Health, Wellbeing, and The Community Scrutiny Committee

The Health, Wellbeing, and The Community Scrutiny Committee is compried of 11 Members of the Council (none of whom can be Cabinet members) along with a member of Staffordshire County Council for the purposes of considering matters under the Health and Social Care Act 2001 and subsequent regulations / guidance.  

The committee has the following functions:

  1. General functions as set out in section 15 of the Council's Constitution
  2. Scrutiny of the 'health & wellbeing' and 'the community' sections of the Council's Corporate Plan 2022-26 and the following services/functions of the Council:
  • Culture and Sport
  • Commonwealth Games
  • Health Scrutiny Statutory Functions
  • Housing and Homelessness
  • Community Safety, CCTV and Partnerships
  • Disabled Facilities Grants
  • Voluntary Organisations and Funding
  • Poverty Emergency
  • Asylum Seekers and Refugees
  • Building of Council Housing and Retrofitting
  • Parks and Open Spaces
  • Grounds Maintenance
  • Countryside Services, Trees, and Allotments
  • Environmental Health and Licensing
  • Environmental Protection
  • Private Sector Housing
  • Street Cleansing
  • Waste & Engineering Services
  • Bereavement Services
