Cannock Chase Council’s Cabinet has agreed to progress with plans announced in the Council’s budget last February, by the previous administration, to introduce garden waste charging. It took the decision to introduce a new subscription service at its Cabinet meeting held last Thursday (14 September).

The Environmental Health service at Cannock Chase Council has welcomed proposals from the government to bring forward a licensing scheme for non-surgical cosmetic procedures.  

The purpose of the scheme is to ensure that consumers who choose to undergo a non-surgical cosmetic procedure can be confident that the treatment they receive is safe and of a high standard. Under the proposed scheme, practitioners will need to be licensed to perform specific procedures and the premises from which they operate will also need to be licensed.

Cannock Chase Council’s Cabinet have approved a charging scheme for pre-planning application advice for minor and householder applications.

The Council already charge for major pre-planning application advice.  However, the Development Management team have been providing pre-application advice for minor and householder applications, free of charge for several years.

Cannock Chase residents are being urged to check their electoral registration details or risk losing their chance to vote on decisions that affect them.

The annual canvass form allows the Council to keep the electoral register up to date, and to identify who risks losing their vote at the elections, to then encourage them to register before it’s too late.



Government funding helps SMEs Go Digital and towards Net Zero

Businesses in Cannock Chase District are being supported to Go Digital and transition to Net Zero under new government-funded projects to be delivered by Staffordshire University.

The fully funded Go Digital Accelerator project will support 16 SMEs who wish to adopt digital technologies or develop new digital products and services.

The 16-week project will involve an Innovation Advisor and Innovation Consultant – usually a trained student or graduate – who will tailor their support to meet bespoke business needs.  

New food law enforcement plan adopted

Cannock Chase Council’s Cabinet has agreed to adopt a new food law enforcement plan for 2023-25.  The plan is required by the Food Standards Agency which requires the Council to set out how its food hygiene service is delivered.
