Job seekers interacted with local businesses, to see what opportunities were available in the District.
Dozens of employers gathered to speak to potential employees, they included, HB Leisure, The Skills Network,The Best Connection,Acacia Training, Pets at Home, QTT Training- HS2, Kids Planet Day Nurseries, Care Service UK, Cannock Chase Council, Upper Moreton Farm, Secure Healthcare Solutions, Avon, Home Instead, South Staffs College, ICare Group, Staffordshire County Council, Staffordshire Police, GS Associates and Balfour Beatty.
Andy Smith, Neighbourhood Officer at Cannock Chase Council said “The first jobs fair in Rugeley has been a tremendous success. It was a great opportunity for local people looking for work to meet employers face to face.”
Samantha Saunders - Regional Operations Manager at Jobs 22 said “It’s been great to bring participants and employers together and promote local opportunities, it's about fostering a sense of community and collaboration towards a brighter future for all. I look forward to Partnering with Cannock Chase Council and Cannock Job Centre in the near future to bring more jobs and skills fairs to the area.”
Donna Linton, Senior Employer Services Consultant at Jobs 22 said “Rugeley’s Community Centre is a great venue for our jobs fairs, so we were able to welcome lots of employers and jobseekers alike. It’s hard for many companies to recruit right now but they should know that help is out there in the form of programmes like the Restart Scheme and the National Careers Service. We can make introductions to eager, work-ready local residents and handle candidate screening, interviews, training and induction processes.”
Chris Fielding, Rugeley Community Centre said “The jobs fair proved to be a huge success, not only in raising the profile of the facilities and work that Rugeley Community Centre does but also offered the Rugeley and surrounding area residents an opportunity to liaise with employers.
It was great to see so many employers gathered in one place and able to offer job opportunities across a wide spectrum of businesses. We look forward to welcoming the next jobs fair later in the year.”
There will be more jobs fairs held across the District, information will be posted on our social media channels.
