Cannock Chase Council have partnered with charity Beat the Cold, to help residents during the ongoing cost of living crisis and soaring energy bills.
For many residents across Cannock, energy costs are a big concern, which is why we are proud to announce our new partnership with Beat the Cold.
The energy advice charity has many support mechanisms to help in these challenging times. They’re a trusted partner within Staffordshire and have over 20 years’ experience in energy advice and support.
They offer energy saving advice to keep your home feel warmer for less. As well as the following support mechanisms.
- Help with energy supplier regarding energy debt.
- Signpost and refer to partner agencies to maximise people incomes.
- Assisting clients to manage their energy accounts properly and appropriate to their needs.
- Support clients to access and apply for Priority Services Register / Winter Fuel / Cold Weather Payments / Fuel and foodbank vouchers (when available)
- Access local authority and government schemes for eligible applicants to improve their properties with insulation, Air Source heat pumps and Solar PV. Helping bring down energy costs.

“It is important at this time of year that our tenants know what help is available to them. With the rising cost of heating, people are struggling to keep their homes warm. Beat the Cold will help those who live in or are at risk of fuel poverty. I am so pleased we are working with them to help our residents.”
Councillor Val Jones, Portfolio Leader for Health, Wellbeing and Community Engagement said “When a vulnerable person is cold at home, they put their health at risk as well as their comfort. I am delighted that we have partnered with Beat the Cold, they are an amazing charity who I know will go the extra mile for our residents.”
