We are asking those living and working in Cannock Chase to tell us their views on climate change in our short survey.
Cannock Chase Council declared a Climate Emergency in July 2019. Setting a vision for the District to become carbon neutral by 2030.
Local authorities are responsible for a small percentage of the carbon dioxide (CO2) and other green house gases - produced in their areas, but they still have a significant role to play in encouraging residents, businesses, and local organisations in their area to achieve zero carbon targets.
The Council’s initial plan for tackling climate change include producing a costed action plan on how to achieve its carbon neutral vision. It recognises that extensive engagement will be necessary to achieve the action plan.
Councillor Justin Johnson, Portfolio Leader for Environment and Climate Change said “We can’t make a change in the District without the help of residents and organisations in Cannock Chase.
“There are many small changes that people could make to help to tackle this global issue. For example by, eating less meat and dairy products, leaving the car at home and walking more and reducing waste by reusing or recycling items at home.
“By completing this short survey you will help us to understand your thoughts on climate change and who in the District are already making changes that could make a difference.”
Please note this survey has now closed and the results are being analysed and will feed into how the Council will work with our communities on the issue of climate change, to help us to reach our goal of becoming carbon neutral.
