Eco Warriors from Gorsemoor Primary School in Heath Hayes were thrilled to receive recycling crates for their classrooms from Cannock Chase Council.
Cannock Chase Council gave 20 recycling crates, one for every classroom to encourage pupils and teachers to recycle plastic, paper and card from within the classroom.
Mr Stead who is the lead at Gorsemoor Primary School for Environmental issues said “Our Eco Warriors have taken the challenges of recycling within the school very seriously. During Recycle Week this year children from across the school took part in various recycling activities and learnt about how they can help to protect the environment. We are so pleased that every classroom will now get the chance to separate any recycling from the general waste.”
John Preece, Environment Portfolio Leader said “Cannock Chase Council will always encourage residents, local businesses and schools to recycle. We’re delighted that pupils at Gorsemoor Primary School are getting involved in helping the environment and learning that their actions especially regarding plastics will have a long term effect on the environment.
“Recycle Week 2019 took place 23 to 29 September as is organised by WRAP, the aim of the week is to encourage the public to recycle more, by demonstrating the benefits of recycling. The theme this year was about taking recycling into your own hands, which pupils at Gorsemoor Primary School have done. Thank you Gorsemoor.”
