Multi Storey Car Park in Cannock Town Centre closed

A decision has been taken by St. Modwen (leaseholder and operator of the Multi Storey Car Park in Cannock Town Centre), that due to concerns about the structure and repair of the car park they have decided to close this car park for further investigation and to ensure the health and safety of its users.

Councillor George Adamson, Leader of the Council said “St. Modwen have not made this decision lightly and are keeping the interests of public safety at the forefront of their decision.  The Council supports St. Modwen's decision to close the Cannock MSCP in the interests of public safety.”

Desmond Kemp, Property Manager at St. Modwen said “To ensure the health and safety of the public, St. Modwen has taken the decision to close Cannock Multi Storey Car Park with immediate effect. 

The car park requires extensive remedial works in order to remain fit for purpose and structurally sound.  Alternative arrangements for permit holders have been undertaken and we apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
