Cannock Park, Elmore Park, Ravenhill Park, Castle Ring and Stile Cop Cemetery have been named as some of the very best in the UK – and that’s official.

The sites managed by Cannock Chase Council are among a record-breaking 1,686 parks and green spaces that received a prestigious Green Flag Award last month, the mark of a quality park or green space.

The Green Flag Award is now celebrating its 20th year; it recognises and rewards the best parks and green spaces across the country. A Green Flag flying overhead is a sign to the public that the space boasts the highest possible standards, is beautifully maintained and has excellent facilities.

Councillor Christine Mitchell Portfolio Leader for Culture and Sport said: “We are absolutely delighted to receive prestigious Green Flag Awards from Keep Britain Tidy for our parks again this year.

These awards recognise the hard work that the Council’s staff, community groups and partners put into keeping the green spaces within Cannock Chase to the very highest standard for both residents and visitors.”
