Cannock Chase Council’s Cabinet approved at its meeting last night to invest £40k into the Let’s Grow Programme this compliments a further £20k previously awarded by Chase Community Partnership.

The Let’s Grow Programme awards capital / revenue grants of up to £5,000 (50% match funded) to existing businesses who are looking to expand and grow and create or safeguard at least one full time job in the Cannock Chase District.

The Let’s Grow Programme originally ran from January 2014 to December 2015 and in that time helped 12 businesses in the District and generated 28 new jobs.

Councillor Gordon Alcott, Portfolio Leader for Economic Development and Planning said “The Let’s Grow Programme ran for two years in the District with a variety of local businesses from Cannock Chase being successful in their application for a grant.  The projects invested by these businesses saw nearly £113k being invested by the businesses themselves and nearly £40k of grants awarded.

This programme is an example of how the Council can assist local businesses with their expansion and ensure job creation in the local area. As interest in this programme remains high, I urge local businesses to make contact with the Economic Development team as soon as possible.

I am delighted that the funding has been allocated and that the programme has been extended.”

The  Economic Development Team are available to answer any questions or queries on funding that is available for local businesses call them on 01543 464272 or email econdev@cannockchasedc.gov.uk

The extension to this existing programme will be funded by the Joint Investment Programme, a partnership of Staffordshire County Council and Cannock Chase Council.
