New look Council website is launched

New website

Cannock Chase Council has launched a new look website, redesigned to be easier and quicker for residents to use.

The redesign follows on from a consultation in January this year; which showed that the majority of respondents would like better navigation, to be mobile friendly and have better reporting facilities.

The new site has been built using responsive technology which recognises the type of device a visitor is using and adjusts the display accordingly.  It incorporates easier and quicker navigation and improved access to online services.

Councillor Andy Lovell, Portfolio Leader for Corporate Improvement said “Releasing a new website is tricky, it is hard to please everyone and Council websites need to be user focused.  We have looked carefully at what residents use our website for and most importantly the site is designed around the top things that people want to do.

Mobile internet use is growing phenomenally; the mobile phone is now the new PC, our new website has a responsive design and can be viewed on mobile phones and tablets as well as PC’s.

The website is the most cost effective communication channel, which enables our residents to interact with us 24hrs a day, 365 days a year, where they can make a payment, request services and report issues.”

As part of the website launch, there is a photograph competition, where residents can submit photographs of the District.  There are three prizes of vouchers worth £50, £20 and £10 for first, second and third places.  The closing date for the competition is 11th December and winners will be announced week commencing 21st December.  Entries should be emailed to communications@cannockchasedc.gov.uk
