Mr Briggs, the former owner of a caravan park in Cannock faces a bill of £14,525 in fines and costs after pleading guilty to sale blocking.

Mr Rodrick Briggs, of Briggs Park Homes pleaded guilty to providing false and misleading information and making false and misleading representations to the relatives of the owner of a residential caravan on the site, when he became too ill to live in it.

Cannock Chase Council in conjunction with its partner Biffa Municipal Ltd is launching their contamination campaign this week, warning residents if they put the wrong item in the blue bin, it won’t get emptied.

Police and Crime Commissioner's People Power Fund for grants between £100 and £3,000

Great ideas for community safety solutions come from local people – which is why Police and Crime Commissioner Matthew Ellis is inviting groups in Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent to bid for money from the Commissioner’s People Power Fund.

The fund empowers local groups to find solutions to community safety problems through smaller grants of between £100 and £3,000.

Children at Chadsmoor CE (VR) Junior School have received a Good Junior Citizen Award following their participation in a poster competition, aimed at highlighting the problem of dog fouling in the area.

The competition was run in conjunction with Community Spirit, a local group established to raise concerns of residents that had also identified dog fouling as a particular issue. Dr. Tom Preston, Chair of Community Spirit presented the winners with their Good Junior Citizen Certificates.

Cannock Chase Council together with Staffordshire Police and Staffordshire County Council have put a protocol in place to ensure the eviction of any unauthorised traveller and gypsy encampments in the District as soon as legally possible.

The protocol was agreed at Cannock Chase Council’s Cabinet meeting on 21^st July 2016 and its aim is to locally negotiate an agreed end to any unauthorised encampment, on Council land, that avoids the formal eviction process.

Cannock Chase Council supported by Staffordshire Police executed a warrant to seize noise making equipment from a property in Rugeley last week.

The resident of the property had failed to heed warnings from Officers of the Environmental Health Department to reduce the excessive volume at which music was being played. The Council investigated and were satisfied that the noise was excessive, this resulted in the service of a Noise Abatement Notice in January this year.
