Local residents will have the opportunity to showcase their Staffordshire inspired artwork later this month as the annual Open Art Exhibition returns.

To mark the 1000th anniversary of Staffordshire, the Museum of Cannock Chase is looking for local artwork that celebrates the county’s rich history, special places, objects and people. Artwork can be submitted in the form of a painting, drawing, sculpture, textile, needlework or craft.

Lee Bellingham, museum manager, said: "The Open Art exhibition has been running for 15 years and this year is particularly special as we celebrate our history.

"I’m looking forward to seeing the pieces of art submitted by residents and displaying it for all to see."

For an entry form and details of the criteria, please contact the museum by calling 01543 877666 or emailing museumofcannockchase@wlct.org

Artwork must be submitted to the museum between Friday 17th – Monday 20th June 2016, 11am - 4pm.

The exhibition will run from Saturday 25th June – Sunday 14th August 2016.
