Cannock based cab company, Corky’s Cars, have licensed two brand new Tesla electric vehicles with Cannock Chase Council, for use across the District.
They are the first private hire company to license a fully electric vehicle with the Council.
To celebrate these eco-friendly vehicles, they will be offering free journeys to random customers who book with them during February, customers however cannot request the Tesla for a free ride.
Corky’s Cars based on the Longford Road in Cannock is owned by William Rotchell who said “We already operate with a fleet of 80% hybrid vehicles, this is our first fully electric car. We aim to be 100% green by 2025 and to be the first environmentally friendly private hire company with an entire fleet of electric vehicles.”
Councillor Andrea Muckley, Portfolio Leader for Environment and Climate Change said “Congratulations to Corky’s for being the first private hire company to license a fully electric vehicle in our District. As a Council we have a vision to reduce emissions across the district and I am pleased that local companies, like Corky’s, are making a great start in reducing their carbon footprint. Their aim to make their whole fleet electric by 2025 is ambitious and I hope it inspires other local companies and residents on their own journey to a cleaner future.”
