Kidsgrove Scout Drum and Bugle Corps wowed Hednesford residents this Sunday morning with their impressive marching band in Hednesford Park.

They were practising for the competition that started at 2pm at Hednesford Town Football Club Keys Park ground.

Drum Corps United Kingdom (DCUK), part of Marching & Performing Arts UK, is a charitable youth based organisation which seeks to promote and support its member Drum and Bugle Corps within the United Kingdom.

The basic concept is playing an entertaining musical programme of their own choice and performing a field show of precision marching, dance and other choreographed movement.

On Sunday 4th September there was an event held at the Football Club between Drum Corps United Kingdom and British Youth Band Association and the DCUK section as part of the European Music Games which is organised by Beeches Performance Ensemble.

Councillor Christine Mitchell, Culture and Sport Portfolio Holder said “This is the first time we have seen a band of this sort in the park, but I’m glad that we were able to facilitate the Kidsgrove Corps and it’s easy to see why they were so highly placed in the Competition.”
