McArthurGlen has unveiled the first of 80 iconic brands that will be opening at Designer Outlet West Midlands early next year.
Excited shoppers can now start looking forward to the most sought-after British and international fashion and lifestyle brands, with Tommy Hilfiger, Reiss, Kurt Geiger, Guess, Calvin Klein and Ted Baker all confirmed for the highly anticipated, landmark retail and leisure destination in Cannock.
They will be joined by global sports brand, Adidas, and kitchen favourite, Le Creuset, with Starbucks and Wagamama also confirmed as the first names making up a wide-range of fantastic food and drink partners. All 10 brands have started preparations for recruitment, with all vacancies set to be advertised online in the next few weeks.
McArthurGlen Designer Outlet West Midlands is due to open early in 2021, with the £160 million development offering year-round savings of up to 60%, as well as creating 1,000 retail jobs that will support around £20 million in employment income each year.
More brands will be announced as the centre gears up for opening, but in the meantime, works at the site are nearing completion with internal fitouts underway. Outside, the 1,400-space car park is now finished and work to create an exciting children’s play area is also making great progress.
The centre will also feature links to the local nature reserve, with a raised walkway offering views and connectivity between the two sites. Almost 400 new trees have been planted as part of the development.
Nearby roads have been subject to a £15 million highway improvements programme and McArthurGlen has also committed a further £1.5 million package supporting local projects, including improvements to the railway station.
Mike Thomas, Centre Manager for McArthurGlen Designer Outlet West Midlands, comments: “As with all McArthurGlen centres, Designer Outlet West Midlands will deliver one of the UK’s finest retail destinations, with the very best mix of high street, premium, designer and international brands, each of them a well-known and much-loved household name. We’re also creating 1,000 retail jobs for the local community, so we’re delighted to be announcing this first set of brands both for our future visitors and those excited about working at the centre.”
Councillor George Adamson, Leader of Cannock Chase Council said “It is very exciting to hear the first set of brands at McArthurGlen Designer Outlet West Midlands and I hope our local residents are pleased too. It makes it very real now that this will be opening early next year. It is going to be the making of our district as well as bringing much needed jobs for the local community.”
