Visitors to McArthurGlen West Midlands in Cannock can now take part in a new wellness challenge with the launch of the Summer of Sports Reading Challenge.

From 26 July to 31 August, families are invited to take on an exciting journey that combines the love of sports with the joy of reading. Participants will collect 10 QR codes located throughout the Centre, each unlocking new sports-themed poems and illustrations. Upon collecting all QR codes, participants can claim a free prize from Guest Services.

This challenge aims to foster a love for reading while highlighting the importance of physical activity. The challenge also encourages children and families to try new sporting activities over the summer. This is all designed to promote a healthy and active lifestyle.

McArthurGlen West Midlands has developed this challenge in partnership with Cannock Chase Council as part of their health and wellbeing programme, Cannock Chase Can.

The Summer of Sports Reading Challenge is free to join and open to children of all ages. Find the first QR code to start the challenge.

Councillor David Williams, Portfolio Leader for Community Wellbeing at Cannock Chase Council, said: "We are delighted to partner with McArthurGlen West Midlands on this innovative challenge.

“It aligns perfectly with our Cannock Chase Can initiative by promoting both physical activity and literacy among our community. We encourage families to join in this fun and educational experience this summer."

David Jackson, Centre Manager for McArthurGlen West Midlands, said: “We are proud to partner once again with Cannock Chase Council, and the ‘Cannock Chase Can’ programme. This is a fantastic initiative to promote both exercise and reading together as one.

“We look forward to being part of this at West Midlands Designer Outlet, and can’t wait to welcome our guests of all ages to be part of our own Summer Of Sport, which of course ‘Cannock Chase Can’ will be a big part of."
