Leader of the Council visits sheltered housing scheme following the 30th anniversary of its opening.
Leader of the Council George Adamson, has visited residents at Grace Moore Court, to mark the 30th anniversary of its opening.
Grace Moore Court is a sheltered housing scheme of 20 flats, managed by Cannock Chase Council. It was built in March 1985, with the first stone being laid by Councillor George Adamson.
The building was officially opened by Miss Grace Moore in 1986, the then head mistress of Chadsmoor Infant School. The name was chosen after a competition at Chadsmoor Junior School.
Councillor George Adamson said “I can’t believe it has been thirty years since the building was officially opened. There is such a wonderful atmosphere there. It was lovely to chat with the residents who are very happy living at Grace Moore Court, which shows as one resident has lived there for 23 years.”
Since being built the accommodation has undergone refurbishments to include provision of self-contained bathrooms and a lift refurbishment.
