Cannock Chase Council, along with its contractor Biffa, has announced that there will be some route changes for its waste and recycling collections across the district, as part of its new contract.
The changes in the new contract help save money and carbon emissions by optimising waste and recycling collection routes across Cannock Chase, thus helping to protect the environment and future service delivery by the Council.
The route changes will take effect from 31 March 2025, and will mean that some households will have their waste and recycling collected on a different day.
Anyone that has a change to their bin collection day will receive a letter through the post, with a ‘one off’ printed calendar. This will detail the new collection day and any disruptions to the collections prior to and after the 31 March.
By revising our collection routes, the Council aims to streamline waste collection and recycling processes, offering a more efficient and reliable service for our residents.
Councillor Lisa Wilson, Portfolio Leader for Environment and Climate Change, said: “Re-routing waste and recycling collections across the district will ensure that we not only improve collection routes, but we also will reduce carbon emissions by making the routes more efficient. This is not something that we do lightly, it has been well over 15-years since we last undertook any significant route changes to our waste and recycling collection service. I would like to thank our residents in advance for their patience whilst this change takes place.”
