Residents are advised that the new waste and recycling calendars will be issued before the end of March next year.
The Council recently announced they were set to award the contracts for their waste collection service and organic garden waste disposal, which will have implications on the way recycling and waste is collected in the District.
The current recycling calendars run until the end of November and rather than waste money on issuing 40,000 plus calendars, that will only last for four months, we are asking residents to bear with us whilst the waste collection contract is finalised.
All collections will remain the same, with the exception of the usual changes during the festive period. Temporary calendars are available to download on the website for those residents who prefer to display a calendar in their home.
For collection changes over the festive period residents will receive a sticker notifying them of the changes on their bins, which will be distributed early December.
Councillor Alan Dudson, Portfolio Leader for Environment said “Residents are advised that there are no changes to their waste collections, however those residents who like to put a calendar on their fridge as a reminder can print off a copy via our website.”
We thank our residents for their recycling efforts following the launch of the ‘Recycling Isn’t Rubbish’ campaign earlier this year. This campaign was launched to encourage residents in the District to put the right item in the right bin and highlighting the consequences incurred from contamination.”
