The task force set up to work together to look at ways to mitigate the impact of the proposed closure of Rugeley Power Station and establish future uses of the Rugeley Power Station site has met for the first time.
On 3rd March representatives from Cannock Chase District Council, Lichfield District Council, Staffordshire County Council, Greater Birmingham and Solihull LEP, Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent LEP, Department for Works and Pensions, National Careers Service, Job Centre Plus, Homes and Communities Agency met with representatives from ENGIE for a preliminary discussion about how they can work together to support ENGIE and its employees and work collaboratively for future use of the site.
Tony McGovern, Managing Director of Cannock Chase Council and Chair of the task force said “I was delighted with the attendance at the first meeting to support ENGIE. We will be working through both the short term and long term issues for the site.”
