Cannock Chase Council is pleased to announce that the Cannock Chase Local Plan 2018-2040, along with its accompanying Policies Map, has been formally submitted to the Secretary of State.
This marks a significant milestone in the development of the new Local Plan, a comprehensive 15-year strategy to meet the district’s housing, employment, and development needs.
Councillor Maureen Freeman, Portfolio Leader for Regeneration and High Streets, said: "I am delighted that we have reached this important milestone. The new Local Plan includes essential planning policies and site allocations to address the development needs of our district through to 2040. These policies will also guide the Council in evaluating planning applications. With the plan now submitted, it is expected that an independent planning inspector will be appointed to review the plan and progress it to examination."
The Cannock Chase District Local Plan is designed to guide and manage the development of the district and is intended to replace the existing Cannock Chase Local Plan (Part 1) 2014 upon adoption by the Council.
A Programme Officer has been appointed as a point of contact for any person with an interest in the Examination and will act as a liaison between the Inspector, Local Planning Authority and Representors.
All submission documents, background materials, and representations received during the Regulation 20 consultation are available to view on the Examination Website: https://www.localplanservices.co.uk/cclocalplanexamination. The website also provides guidance on the examination process.
