Cannock Chase Council is calling on park users to tell them what they think about Hednesford Park and the refurbishment that has taken place over the last few years.
Hednesford Park has been dramatically improved to the extent that we now believe it to be one of the best parks in Staffordshire.
To measure the success of this work, a consultation exercise is being undertaken to find out what users/visitors of the park think of the improvements made to the park and War Memorial. Questionnaires can be completed online or hard copies are available from The Parlour Cafe, based in the park. The consultation ends on 13 November 2016.
On completion of a questionnaire, each respondent will have the chance to enter a virtual balloon race and be in with a chance of winning a range of prizes.
Each respondent will be given an activation code which will allow them to enter the race and design a balloon. The designed balloons will then take part in a virtual balloon race which will follow ‘real time’ weather conditions within the District.
The virtual balloon race will start on Monday 21 November and finish on Friday 25 November. Winners will be announced at the Hednesford Christmas lights switch-on event in December.
Councillor Christine Mitchell, Leader of Culture and Sport said, “The developments made to the park have had an extremely positive impact and have now made Hednesford a destination park for everyone to enjoy. The work has been made possible thanks to funding received from the Heritage Lottery Fund, Cannock Chase Council, Staffordshire Environmental Fund and St Modwen.
“This consultation exercise will enable us to build on this successful work and help us improve the park further. The virtual balloon race is a great idea to encourage people to complete a questionnaire. I would urge park users to get involved in the consultation as there are loads of great prizes up for grabs if you enter the race!”
The race is being hosted by Rent a Balloon and can be viewed live at www.cannockchasedc.gov.uk/hednesfordpark
