The lucky winners of the virtual balloon race that took place as part of the recent Hednesford Park consultation were officially announced at Hednesford’s Christmas light switch-on event this month.
Cannock Chase Council launched a consultation exercise in October to find out what users/visitors of the park thought of the improvements made to the park and the War Memorial as part of the ongoing development works.
On completion of a questionnaire, each respondent was given the chance to enter the virtual balloon race which ran from Monday 21 November to Friday 25 November. There were a range of prizes on offer and these were kindly donated by local businesses.
The lucky winners were:

- Connor Bowley - Skateboard donated by Canvas Spaces
- Charlie Evans - Stunt scooter donated by Fish Face Cycles
- Emma Evans - Tennis Equipment donated by Cheslyn Hay Tennis Club
- Michelle Curtis - Food vouchers donated by The Parlour
- Laura Folkard - Roller blades and padding donated by Fish Face Cycles
- Cheryl Smith - Forest School education back pack donated by Go Outdoors
- Stacey Reeves - Orienteering set donated by Go outdoors
- Oliver Donnelly - Running Shoes and clothing donated by Decathlon
- Sarah Cope - Sports equipment donated by Decathlon
Councillor Christine Mitchell, Leader of Culture and Sport said, “Thank you to everyone who completed a questionnaire – the results will enable the Council to build on the successful work undertaken and help make further improvements to Hednesford Park.
“The virtual balloon race was a great idea to encourage people to complete a questionnaire and offered some fantastic prizes. Well done to everyone that took part”.
The results of the consultation will be published on the Council’s website in 2017.
