Dual stream service launches in Cannock Chase

The new dual stream recycling service has begun to roll out over the district, its aim is to improve the quality of our recycling.

New blue bags to recycle paper and cardboard are making their way to residents in Cannock Chase and every property will have a blue bag by 20 May.

The new service will not only give residents additional recycling capacity, but will also result in better quality recycling by avoiding contamination.

A recent court case has demonstrated Cannock Chase Council’s zero tolerance approach towards fly tipping.

Michelle Blackmoor, of Harden Road, Walsall, pleaded guilty at Cannock Magistrates Court on 3 May 2022, to an offence under Section 34 Environmental Protection Act 1990, of failing in her duty of care to ensure her waste was properly and legally disposed of.

Wednesday 11 May 2022: The Birmingham 2022 Queen’s Baton Relay is confirmed to visit Cannock Chase District - also the venue for the mountain biking event - during its final journey through England this summer, as the full route is revealed.

New survey aims to capture perceptions of Cannock town centre

With work progressing behind the scenes to turn the £20 million Levelling Up Fund allocation for Cannock town centre into reality, a new survey has been launched to capture residents` perceptions of the town centre as it appears now.

The perception survey follows a virtual public consultation exhibition that appeared on the Council’s website asking for views on leisure and culture in the town centre, connectivity, and the potential for business and skills workspaces. That received 231 responses.
