Cabinet approve environmental improvements for Cannock Town Centre

Cannock Chase Council’s Cabinet has approved to spend £94,000 on environmental improvements in Cannock Town Centre.

The improvements will include a comprehensive painting scheme; improving the exterior appearance of the Prince of Wales Theatre; updating display cabinets around the town and a graffiti art scheme on roller shutter doors of empty Council owned buildings.

Cannock Chase Council’s Cabinet has approved to spend £89,950 to improve car park payment machines in the District.

The improvements will include replacing 18 and 2 upgrades to pay and display machines at 12 of the Council owned pay and display car parks, to enable coin, chip and contactless payments.

The cost of the ticket machines will be met by the capital programme budget, of which a budget of £492,000 was allocated for car park improvements and agreed by Council on 7 February 2018.

Consultation opens on Parks and Open Spaces in the District

Cannock Chase Council is seeking the views of residents on the parks and open spaces available in the District.

Parks and open spaces include play areas, allotments, cemeteries and housing amenity areas.

The consultation is part of the preparation of a new Local Plan to replace the adopted Local Plan (Part 1) 2014.

Rugeley Market Hall is hosting a free fun day this February half term.

On Tuesday 18 February from 11am-2pm at Rugeley Market Hall there will be free face painting and balloon modelling and free art and craft sessions for local children.

The fun day coincides with the official opening of the Rugeley Area Office, which has recently re-located inside the market hall from Anson Street in Rugeley.

Cannock Chase Council are supporting the ‘Make Your Metals Matter’ campaign which encourages people to recycle all the metal packaging found around their house, including food and drink cans, foil trays, empty aerosols and household aluminium wrapping foil.
