Cannock Chase Council is calling on residents of the Pear Tree Estate in Rugeley, to join forces and become part of an exciting initiative, that will support improvements to Flaxley Road Play Area in Rugeley.
The Council are looking for volunteers who are local and are passionate about the area and protecting the park, to set up a Friends of Flaxley Park group.

Councillor John Preece has been appointed as Deputy Leader for Cannock Chase Council.
This follows the resignation of Councillor Josh Newbury as Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member. As he was elected as Member of Parliament for the Cannock Chase Constituency at the General Election earlier this month.
Councillor Maureen Freeman has taken the position of Portfolio Leader for Regeneration and High Streets on the Council’s Cabinet. These changes were reported to the Council at its meeting on Wednesday 24 July 2024.

Visitors to McArthurGlen West Midlands in Cannock can now take part in a new wellness challenge with the launch of the Summer of Sports Reading Challenge.
From 26 July to 31 August, families are invited to take on an exciting journey that combines the love of sports with the joy of reading. Participants will collect 10 QR codes located throughout the Centre, each unlocking new sports-themed poems and illustrations. Upon collecting all QR codes, participants can claim a free prize from Guest Services.

Cannock Chase Council in partnership with Inspiring Healthy Lifestyles is thrilled to announce the launch of the Kids CAN Club, a dynamic new initiative designed to keep children active, engaged, and entertained throughout the summer.

Everyone has the right to a warm, secure home, yet many people in England are living in a home with damp and mould which may put their physical and mental health at risk.

Cannock Chase Council’s Cabinet have approved to spend £238,275 on solar panels at Rugeley Leisure Centre.
The funding has been allocated from money received from the Government’s Swimming Pool Support Fund, which aims to improve the energy efficiency of public facilities.

We are delighted to announce that Cannock Chase Council has again received the prestigious Green Flag Award for six sites across the District.
Cannock Park, Ravenhill Park, Elmore Park, Hednesford Park, Stile Cop Cemetery and Castle Ring have retained their flags.
Castle Ring, an ancient hill fort site has also retained the Green Heritage Site Accreditation, supported by Historic England, for the management of its historic features.

We are pleased to announce the official opening of Cannock Stadium skatepark and learn to ride park will take place on Thursday 11 July.
The event organised by Cannock Chase Council will be supported by partners, The Friends of Cannock Stadium, Inspiring Healthy Lifestyles, Forestry England and Canvas.
Running from 4pm until 7pm this exciting event promises a plethora of activities including competitions, prizes, and giveaways.
