Solar panels to be installed on Rugeley Leisure Centre

Cannock Chase Council’s Cabinet have approved to spend £238,275 on solar panels at Rugeley Leisure Centre.
The funding has been allocated from money received from the Government’s Swimming Pool Support Fund, which aims to improve the energy efficiency of public facilities.

Six parks and green spaces receive coveted Green Flag Award

We are delighted to announce that Cannock Chase Council has again received the prestigious Green Flag Award for six sites across the District.

Cannock Park, Ravenhill Park, Elmore Park, Hednesford Park, Stile Cop Cemetery and Castle Ring have retained their flags.

Castle Ring, an ancient hill fort site has also retained the Green Heritage Site Accreditation, supported by Historic England, for the management of its historic features.

Skate and learn to ride parks grand opening

We are pleased to announce the official opening of Cannock Stadium skatepark and learn to ride park will take place on Thursday 11 July.

The event organised by Cannock Chase Council will be supported by partners, The Friends of Cannock Stadium, Inspiring Healthy Lifestyles, Forestry England and Canvas.

Running from 4pm until 7pm this exciting event promises a plethora of activities including competitions, prizes, and giveaways.

Businesses across Cannock Chase are being encouraged to take advantage of an interest-free loan, designed to help them take the next step on their growth journey.

Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) that have been running for between two and five years in the Cannock Chase Council area could be eligible for more than £3,000 with a Step Up Loan.

Under the programme, delivered by Staffordshire County Council, working in partnership with Cannock Chase Council, the loan can be used to purchase equipment or capital items that will help businesses in the District expand.

Cannock Chase Council’s Cabinet have agreed to match £818,097 of grant funding to decarbonise some of the housing stock across the District.

Grant funding of £818,097 was received from the West Midlands Combined Authority in February 2023.

WMCA will carry out individual property assessments to provide a ‘medium term plan’ for each property in line with  with PAS 2035 British Standard for retrofitting dwellings and will start with the worst properties first, following consulting with the resident of the property.

The consultation on the Gambling Act Statement of Principles 2025 (also known as the Gambling Policy) started on Friday 31 May 2024 and runs until Sunday 30 June 2024.

Each year Cannock Chase Council recognises the achievements of young people within the District by awarding the Youth Endeavour Award.  This award provides an opportunity to recognise and reward some of the positive achievements and contributions that are made by our young people.  

This year's award was presented to Jack Gilbert from Kingsmead School, who was nominated by Miss Hinton, Year 10 Progress Leader at Kingsmead School.
