Cannock Chase Council is calling on tenants and leaseholders to take an active role in shaping the future of housing in the district by joining its newly created Housing Board.

This initiative seeks to bring tenant and leaseholder voices directly into the Council’s decision-making process, ensuring that policies and strategies reflect the real experiences and needs of Cannock Chase residents.

Friend’s groups across Cannock Chase have been awarded for their outstanding contributions from the Heart of England Bloom Awards.

The Heart of England Bloom Awards recognise towns for their impact on local environments through floral displays, community work and environmental schemes.  The awards ceremony took place in Coventry last month.

Council Leaders across Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent have written to the Government to begin a conversation about devolution and how it could benefit the area.

The Staffordshire Leaders Board - including Tony Johnson from Cannock Chase District Council (pictured) and nine fellow authority leaders representing the county council, city council and district and borough councils - have set out their commitment to explore how a transfer of powers and investment from Whitehall could boost the local economy and living standards.

Wireless CCTV upgrade in Rugeley Town Centre approved

Council’s Cabinet have approved to spend £22,000 from its CCTV Capital Programme to upgrade the current CCTV transmission system in Rugeley Town Centre. This project will convert the existing BT transmission to a more advanced wireless solution, enhancing public safety and reducing costs.

Environmental improvements set for Chadsmoor

Chadsmoor is set to benefit from environmental improvements, thanks to the allocation of £23,100.73 in Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) ward funding.  The decision was confirmed at last night’s cabinet meeting, securing much-needed enhancements for the area.

Cannock Chase Council has reinforced its commitment to combating climate change by joining a Staffordshire-wide statement focused on addressing climate change through proactive planning policies. The decision was formally approved at last night’s Cabinet meeting, marking a significant step toward achieving net zero emissions across the county by 2050.

Cannock Chase Council has today launched its latest review of polling districts, polling places and polling stations used for Parliamentary and local elections and is seeking views from residents on any suggested changes they may have.


The review considers factors such as ease of access, location within a polling district, availability, facilities and the number of electors per polling station.

Tennis courts refurbished across the district

Cannock Chase Council, in partnership with the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA), is proud to announce the official opening of its refurbished tennis courts across the district.

The scheme has seen significant upgrades to tennis facilities across the district, including four courts at Hednesford Park, six at Cannock Park, one at Ravenhill Park, and the complete rebuilding of two courts at Heath Hayes Park.  These were officially opened by Chairman of the Council, Councillor Steve Thornley and his consort Councillor Sue Thornley earlier this month
