Anti-Social Behaviour Case Review



The Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) Case Review is part of the Anti-Social Behaviour Crime and Policing Act 2014. It gives victims and communities the right to request a review of their anti-social behaviour complaints and brings agencies together to take a joined up, problem solving approach to find a solution. It is used when a person believes that no or insufficient action has been taken and that the anti-social behaviour is ongoing. 

To  be able to request an ASB Case Review, the locally defined threshold needs to be met which is:-

Three complaints of anti-social behaviour need to have been made to either the police, council or housing provider. Each of these complaints must be in regard to separate but related incidents, and will have taken place in the last six month period with the last ASB incident being reported within 30 days of it taking place.

You can activate an ASB Case Review on someone else’s behalf, however, the individual concerned must give you consent to do so.

You can apply to activate an ASB Case Review by:

Completing an online case review application form 

Visit the Police Enquiry Office at Cannock Police Station

Contacting Staffordshire police on 101 

Contacting Staffordshire Police by using the live messaging tool on their website.

Writing to Central Disclosure Unit, Police HQ, Weston Road, Stafford, ST18 0YY

As a Relevant Body, a request for an ASB Case Review can also be made to Cannock Chase Council via Partnership@cannockchasedc.gov.uk. We would then activate it with Staffordshire Police on the victim’s behalf through one of the above listed channels.

The information provided will be shared with other relevant agencies, to determine if the threshold has been met.

If an ASB Case Review request meets the defined threshold, a  multi-agency case review will be undertaken. Agencies will share information, review what action has been taken and decide whether additional actions are possible.

You will be kept updated throughout the process and be given a named point of contact from one of the agencies involved.
