Cannock Chase Council is offering a free Christmas tree chipping service this January in a bid to help residents recycle their Christmas trees.
Areas will be fenced off and clearly marked in the following locations from Friday 6 January until Monday 16 January:
Residents are asked to ensure that all decorations are removed from the live trees.
The trees will be chipped and the chippings used around the District.

Students and young people are being urged to leave their passports at home when socialising on nights out in a new drive to prevent identity fraud.
Those who use the highly valuable travel document as a form of age identification at bars and clubs are at risk of it being lost or stolen and potentially falling into the hands of criminals.

The successful Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) project has highlighted the true value of volunteering at Hednesford Park.
In 2012 Cannock Chase Council were successful in a HLF bid for £2.2m, together with funding from the Council, Staffordshire Environmental Fund and St Modwen this has enabled a number of developments to be achieved at the park and war memorial.

Residents of park homes in the District are set to benefit from £700,000 worth of energy bill rebates, as part of a government Warm Home Discount (WHD) scheme, available to residents across the country, on a first come first served basis.
The scheme is funded by eight UK energy suppliers (British Gas, EDF Energy, E.ON, npower, Scottish Power, SSE, Utilita and Extra Energy) and is independently administered by Charis Grants Limited.

The lucky winners of the virtual balloon race that took place as part of the recent Hednesford Park consultation were officially announced at Hednesford’s Christmas light switch-on event this month.
Cannock Chase Council launched a consultation exercise in October to find out what users/visitors of the park thought of the improvements made to the park and the War Memorial as part of the ongoing development works.
