Single Person Discount review
The Council is currently reviewing Council Tax accounts where a 25% Single Person Discount has been applied. This is to make sure that:
- the correct person is being charged Council Tax;
- the account holder is still eligible for the discount;
- the bills we send to you are correct; and
- everyone is charged the correct amount.
The review is being carried out in partnership with NEC Software Solutions UK (NEC) so if you are contacted by them directly, don’t worry, NEC will manage all resident enquiries relating to this review.
There will not be a Single Person Discount review form enclosed with your 2025/26 bill this year. If NEC do not send you a letter, you will not need to do anything, we will renew your discount automatically.
What you need to do
If you have received a review letter from NEC you will need to complete a declaration form.
The quickest and most convenient way to make your declaration is to go to www.spd-review.co.uk/cannock and enter your unique code, which can be found in your review letter. The process is quick, free and easy and should only take you a few minutes to complete.

If you do not respond
If you receive a review letter and do not respond, the discount will be removed from your account and you may be charged a £70 penalty. So please ensure you respond as soon as you receive your letter.
