Over 3,000 Cannock Chase residents who receive a Single Person’s discount on their Council Tax will be receiving letters inviting them to re-apply, or to report any changes in their circumstances.  

Working in partnership with Staffordshire County Council, NEC Software Solutions and Experian, a dedicated telephone and online service has been provided to make it easy to re-apply.  

Using technology available to us, we have been able to verify a large number of claims without needing to write to the resident.

If you receive one of the forms, it is very important that you provide the information that is requested, whether you still live alone or not.  The Council will cancel discounts and issue penalties for people who do not return their forms.  

We are not asking for any financial information in this review, we are only reviewing the entitlement to the 25% Single Person Discount.
