The social alarm scheme is available to tenants who live in any type of property provided that they meet the following criteria:-
(a) Are secure or introductory tenants of Cannock Chase Council.
(b) Are either:-
- Aged 70 (or over) or;
- Live in a property with disabled adaptations and are in need of those adaptations or;
- Receive one or more of the following benefits:-
- Attendance Allowance
- Disability Living Allowance
- PIP (Personal Independence Payment)
- Severe Disablement Allowance
- War Disablement Pension
- Employment Support Allowance (support component)
- Long-term Incapacity Benefit (note long-term only)
- Vulnerable Tenants Social Alarm Scheme

The Council offer a Vulnerable Tenants Social Alarm Scheme to tenants who are aged 70 or over or receive one or more of the following benefits:
- Attendance Allowance
- Disability Living Allowance
- Severe Disablement Allowance
- War Disablement Allowance
- Long Term Incapacity Benefit (note long term only)

Note: The standards of service may be subject to change as a result of budget constraints or increases in tenant demand for the services.
Eligible tenants can apply for the scheme, subject to:-
(a) The provision of documentary evidence of their age or receipt of benefit;
