Residents in Cannock Chase are urged to stay vigilant against fraud as the STOP the Scams campaign relaunches.
This initiative is making a comeback to raise awareness about scams, how to recognise them and how to stay safe.
With older adults aged 65 and above among the most common victims of fraud, the campaign focuses on reducing these incidents and encouraging residents to report scams. It highlights the most prevalent types of scams and shares practical tips for avoiding fraud.
To spread the message, campaign materials will again feature prominently, including advertisements on refuse and housing vans, in local newspapers, social media and a targeted radio campaign. A helpful video and an information booklet will also be available for download or collect at key locations across Cannock Chase District. Details of these can be found in the full press release here.
Residents are encouraged to report suspicious activity by contacting Action Fraud at 0300 123 2040 or visiting their website.
This campaign is part of the Council’s ongoing safeguarding efforts and is supported by funding from the Staffordshire Commissioner’s Locality Deal Fund.
