Housing Consultations

As part of keeping our tenants and residents at the centre of everything we do, this is a dedicated page for you to have your say and shape the services we deliver for you.

A consultation is a process where we ask for your views to help us make a decision on a specific topic.

We will consider what you tell us and use this, along with other information, to inform our policies and procedures, recommendations and decisions that could affect you.

If you have any additional comments on anything, please email residentengagement@cannockchasedc.gov.uk or telephone 01543 462621.

Repairs Priority Timescales Change

We are dedicated to improving our services and deliver responsive repairs to your homes in a timely and convenient manner.  As a consequence, the Council’s Housing Maintenance Team have reviewed the current repair priority timescales as detailed in the Cannock Chase Council Repairs Handbook and want to update you on some proposed changes.

To help plan and appoint repairs more efficiently, we are proposing that Repair Priority 2 and Priority 3 will now come under the same 5 working day target response time. This will allow us to plan repairs more efficiently and offer more flexibility to you for appointment slots.

Repair Priority Timescales

Priority 1
Emergency Repair (Same day)

An emergency repair is where it involves a risk to your health and safety or serious damage to your property.

Priority 2 and 3
Urgent Repairs and Essential Repairs are to be merged as one category, with a 5 working day target response time.

Priority 4
Routine Repairs (38 working days)

See the Repairs Handbook or the Repairs webpage for more information on urgent and essential repairs.

Please email any comments to ResidentEngagement@cannockchasedc.gov.uk by Monday 5th May 2025
Once the consultation is complete, we should be introducing these changes and will notify you.  This will not impact on any existing committed appointments or any repairs under a different priority.

Please Note:
Priority 1 - emergency repairs where it involves a risk to your health and safety or serious damage to your property will still be scheduled and attended on the same day as reported to the Council.
